‘The Hammer’ is one of the most beloved early UFC stars. However, Mark Coleman was unfortunately the victim of a terrible house fire last week. As many have already reported, the retired fighter’s dog Hammer, woke him up in the middle of the night to alert him. Thanks to the alert, Coleman was able to get his parents out of the home safely.

Sadly, the legend’s dog passed away as a result of the fire, and Mark Coleman himself spent days in the hospital. However, the former UFC champion showed his unbreakable spirit and recovered well enough to leave the hospital days after the fire. Now, it seems that the retired fighter is already back in the gym.

Earlier today, UFC welterweight contender Matt Brown released a video on Instagram. In the video, ‘The Immortal’ is seen in the cage with Mark Coleman, who flexed for the camera. Despite the terrible fire just a few days previous, the former champion is seemingly in great spirits.

Later, Coleman re-posted the picture to his own social media pages. With that, the heavyweight left a caption thanking fans for their support, and stating how grateful he was. Coleman added that while he’s still recovering, he’s hoping to get back into the gym routine soon.

“I promise everybody I’m taking it easy but it’s time for me to get back into a routine. I have so many families; blood, wrestling, mma, sober, hammer house and more I’m so blessed I am so grateful you have all made this recovery, amazingly easier, much faster, much more peaceful I am mentally strong, but like anything you need to do the work to stay strong Sober is cool carnivore diet, nine ancestral tenants hammer house for life.” – Mark Coleman’s Instagram post read earlier today.

The video itself is just more proof of the unbreakable spirit of Mark Coleman. Since the house fire last week, there’s been an outpouring of support for the legend on social media from fans and fighters alike. However, just based on the videos from the former fighter, he’s doing better these days.
