CLASH continues its collaboration with VERO True Social spotlighting homegrown talent via their VERO Amplify series. For the final instalment of 2022, Delilah Montagu joins us in the studio.

It’s been a road of discovery for the London-based artist. Charting her journey from adolescence to adulthood, Delilah moved from her roots in orchestral music towards contemporary stardom. The inspiration behind Fred Again’s breakthrough hit ‘Delilah (pull me out of this)’, Delilah is no stranger to a multiplying audience; she’s worked alongside Black Coffee and David Guetta on the smash hit ‘Drive’, amassing over 67 million streams worldwide.

Although Delilah first made her mark within the mainstream sphere, it’s the likes of The Smiths, James Blake, Joni Mitchell and Bon Iver that have shaped her indie sensibilities. Across three distinct EPs, she wove together her experiences with addiction and romantic entanglements, all through a profusion of glossy, bedroom pop and raw, flecked acoustics. The storytelling aspect of songwriting provided Delilah with a gateway to her innermost thoughts and to this day music remains a cathartic escape.

As the promise of a new year beckons, Delilah Montagu is braced for her next chapter.

As part of VERO Amplify’s Deep Dives 5 interview, we delve into the day-to-day life of the riser. Montagu reveals her favourite hotspots, games and an artist recommendation we should all be listening to.

Delilah also performs an acoustic rendition of project highlight ‘Lost Keys’, filmed at the Clash Studio.
