Hollie Fullbrook’s first dose of new music since 2019…

New Zealand project Tiny Ruins return with new song ‘The Crab / Waterbaby’.
Led by Hollie Fullbrook, the band’s spartan take on pop-meets-indie, folk-meets-psych has resulted in some bold, quietly original recordings. Lyrically, few do it better – sharply poetic, each revelation from Tiny Ruins takes your breath away.
2019’s ‘Olympic Girls’ full length became a breakout moment of sorts, and thankfully Tiny Ruins are now back with something fresh.
Out now, ‘The Crab / Waterbaby’ gradually comes into focus, it’s patient journey mirroring the quiet euphoria of the lyric itself. “I need a ceremony” Fullbrook vows, “I need a ritual” before the spider-like guitar lines pass by her voice.
Building to something softly endearing, she closes “Now let’s go give this day a chance…”
A moment of hushed enchantment, ‘The Crab / Waterbaby’ is an excellent return that shows Tiny Ruins at their very best.
Tune in now.
