A blast of rock ‘n’ roll energy…
20 · 09 · 2024
Mansfield five-piece The Publics have shared their urgent, dynamic new EP.
Out now, the EP follows a string of essential single releases, pin-pointing the band’s raw blast of indie rock ‘n’ roll. Citing early Arctic Monkeys as a key influence, The Publics tap into that helter skelter Northern indie lineage, while adding their own twist.
Huge live favourites with their besotted fans, The Publics have paused just long enough to unleash this new EP. ‘I Know The World Stopped, But Why Did You?’ is a plea to live your life as it’s meant to be lived, six tracks that deal with the inspiration of the everyday.
At times, you can hear aspects of The Killers’ arena-ready pop touch, or even peers such as Catfish & The Bottlemen.
The Publics comment…
“Most of our songs are written as character studies based on either people we’ve met or from stories that our friends have shared about people they know. ‘Relatability’ is a huge factor in people connecting with a song and we don’t feel as though we’ve lived very ‘relatable’ lives. By telling others’ stories our songs’ cover a range of topics, It also means that when we do write personal songs, such as ‘I Know the World Stopped’, but ‘Why Did You?’ and ‘Murphy’s Law’, they tend to have that extra kick to them!”
Tune in now.
