Kaleidoscopic exploration…
This season the world’s leading outdoor brand, The North Face, has unveiled a collaboration with London-based artist Alfie Kungu. Following previous collaborations with brands including Carhartt WIP, Nike, Vans and Fred Perry, Kungu’s 10-piece capsule for The North Face is inspired by the great outdoors.
Channelling his own experiences growing up in rural Yorkshire into abstract, playful prints, Kungu reflects on the collection: “Nature works on so many different scales. It’s humbling. You realise you’re not at the centre of everything; you’re just a small part of a huge environment with lots of things going on in it.”
Centred on a midnight kaleidoscope print, the latest NSE capsule includes reinterprets classic pieces from The North Face archives such as the Rusta Puffer, Gartha Microfleece Pants, Seasonal Denali Fleece and Fleeski Street Bucket Hat & Etip Gloves.
Coinciding with the collection launch, Alfie Kungu and The North Face inspired some short films to showcase the collaboration.
