The National seem to be teasing plans for a new album.

Over the weekend fans noticed an update to their official site, over at www.americanmary.com/lp9. The password-protected area was quickly cracked – as Stereogum points out, the password uncovered by fans is ‘EVIL FOREBODINGS’.

Upon entering, you can access to two short clips of new music, and there’s also a book laid open which features references to ‘Mrs. Bridgers’, ‘Taylor’ and ‘Uncle Sufjan’.

All very exciting…

The National’s last studio album ‘I Am Easy To Find’ was released in 2019. Since then, they’ve remixed seminal German band NEU!, while Bryan Devendorf, Aaron Dessner, and Bryce Dessner all contributed to Taylor Swift’s mighty 2020 album ‘folklore’.
