Swifties, look what you made her do: Taylor Swift‘s The Eras Tour concert film has dropped a day early.
Originally set to premiere tomorrow evening, the movie will hold early screenings today starting at 6 p.m. with additional showings Friday morning at AMC and Cinemark theaters worldwide. Tickets for the Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour are now available to buy online at Fandango.com, AMCtheatres.com and Cinemark.com.
The concert movie surpassed $100 million in sales even before last night’s star-studded red carpet premiere at The Grove’s AMC Theatre, where the superstar welcomed a surprise appearance by Beyoncé. Other celebrity guests included Adam Sandler, Simu Liu, Julia Garner, Maren Morris, Rachel Zegler and Mariska Hargitay.
Ahead of the screening, the THR Platinum Player gave a brief speech in each of the 13 theaters showing the film, telling the crowd, “I wanted to come and say hi to you before you watched the film because honestly, the fact that this tour was such a grand adventure has everything to do with the ways in which you cared about this tour and about these shows. I think that you’ll see that you’re absolutely a main character in the film, because it was your magic and your attention to detail and your sense of humor and the ways that you lean into what I’m doing and the music I create.”
Swift’s Eras Tour kicked off in March in Arizona, and will continue in North America, Europe and Asia through November 2024. Like the premiere, her concerts attracted a slew of famous fans, including Meghan Markle, BFF Karlie Kloss, proud Swiftie dad Channing Tatum, Mindy Kaling (with her dozens of friendship bracelets), ex-boyfriend Taylor Lautner — who, with wife Tay, premiered Swift’s new music video for “I Can See You (Taylor’s Version)”, Emma Roberts, Nina Dobrev, Jesse Ferguson Tyler, Molly Shannon, Alexandra Daddario, Elizabeth Banks, Amy Adams, Brie Larson, and many, many others.
