It’s where they played their first ever show…

The Cure seem to have announced plans for their log-awaited new album – with a poster outside a humble local pub.

The band’s 2008 album ‘4:13 Dream’ is their most recent studio endeavour, but The Cure remain a titanic, highly active live force. Working a follow-up has been ongoing for some time, with Robert Smith dropping the odd teaser into his (admittedly rare) interviews.

This week, speculation hit fever pitch. The Cure’s new album seems to be called ‘Songs Of A Lost World’ and it will be released on November 1st.

Our proof? A poster outside the Railway in the English town of Crawley – where The Cure played their first ever shows.

Alongside this, the band seem to be sending postcards embossed with album release details to a select bunch of fans. 6Music broadcaster and The Cure mega-fan Matt Everett got a surprise in the post, which he quickly shared online:

BREAKING: THE CURE’s first NEW ALBUM in 16 years seems to be confirmed via MYSTERIOUS postcards sent to fans.

The cryptic cards are embossed with both the album’s title, “Songs of a Lost World”, as well as roman numerals which tease the possible release date of Nov. 1, 2024.… pic.twitter.com/ri38Y9jQYD
