A full album is incoming…

05 · 08 · 2024

The Belair Lip Bombs have become the first Australian act to sign to Third Man Records.

The band blazed through Austin, Texas recently for a flurry of much-hyped SXSW shows, before hitting London for a one-off packed out date at the George Tavern.

New album ‘Lush Life’ is their introductory note, and it will be released physically on October 18th – it’s available digitally now. The Belair Lip Bombs are spearheaded by Maisie Everett(guitar, keys, vox), joined by hardcore trio Mike Bradvica (guitars), Liam De Bruin (drums) and Jimmy Droughton (bass).

The incoming LP was recorded between Naarm/Melbourne spaces Head Gap and Singing Bird studios, riding the band working alongside engineer Nao Anzai (Floodlights, Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever) on mixing and mastering.

Maisie comments…

The album is titled ‘Lush Life’ – these words are referenced a few times throughout the album. Themes or motifs explored in the album often involve a longing for something that isn’t there, but maybe not quite knowing exactly what that something is. The term ‘Lush Life’ sort of describes a picture perfect world where everything is easy (but doesn’t actually exist).

I wanted it to be perfect, and we tried a lot of different things in the studio, in terms of melodies and harmonies. It was a lot of fun. I was playing in another band at the time and constantly on tour which made it hard to finish the album in a linear way. But I’m glad we took our time with it, because it’s turned out exactly how we wanted it.
