Her new album is incoming…

American songwriter Squirrel Flower has shared new song ‘Intheskatepark’.

Out now, the song comes ahead of Squirrel Flower’s incoming album, with ‘Tomorrow’s Fire’ set to land on October 13th. The track will be accompanied by a short burst of UK shows in November, and was produced by the songwriter – real name Ella Williams – at Drop of Sun Studios in Asheville.

The Chicago artist draws on a wealth of experience, with new single ‘Intheskatepark’ illustrating her DIY tendencies, and her ability to broaden her scope. Dappled in sunshine, the song seems to yearn towards the eternal summers of our adolescence, embodying a sense of freedom that disappears with the emergence of adulthood.

Fun, wistful, and at times outright moving, ‘Intheskatepark’ has a cute simplicity that makes its yearning all the more profound. She comments…

“I wrote this song in 2019 on a little toy synthesiser. To me, this song is everlasting summer — even as things change, seasons, feelings, relationships, you can still try and feel the perfect lightness of summer, of a new crush, of a pop riff. It’s best listened to while biking around in the sunshine.”

Tune in now.
