Sola’s ‘Heat’ Taps Into Club Flavours

London artist Sola returns with new single ‘Heat’.

Her latest release, it was constructed alongside Haich Ber Na in 2020, with the two tapping into club flavours. Known for her soulful songwriting, Sola leans into system energy on this new song, which calls to mind aspects of UKG and early grime. Indeed, ‘Heat’ is worth aligning with those early Katy B gems – pop-oriented, but with an awareness of underground sounds.

Out now on Jamz Supernova’s ever-reliant Future Bounce imprint, ‘Heat’ is a catchy ode to sensual pleasure, just right for summer listening. Sola comments…

“Production wise, the song is a bit of a homage to a lot of the UK dance music I grew up on and I really tried to capture that nostalgic essence.” 

Jesse May Fisher directs the video, with the imagery relying on the tension between hot and cold images. The film maker comments:

“We reflected the song’s themes by making it very steamy and sensual, but also capturing a sense of emptiness & vulnerability.”
