Sekou Shares Vital New EP ‘Out Of Mind’

Rising force Sekou has shared his vital new EP ‘Out Of Mind’.

The songwriter has incredible breadth, able to fuse jazz with R&B, injecting pop with left-field aspects. Recent single ‘Better Man’ was an emphatic introduction, the Yakob-produced song displaying the emotive side of Sekou’s work.

The Leicester-born London-based artist has just shared his debut EP in full, and ‘Out Of Mind’ is a feature. The jazzy ‘Be With You’ illustrates his dexterity, while the infectious light of ‘Forgiving Myself’ feels breezy and uplifting.

With production talent including the afore-mentioned Yakob, Sounwave, and Cirkut, the EP shows admirable breadth, held together by the force of Sekou’s character.

He comments…

“I wanted to have creative freedom on this and do something different from what I’ve done before. I loved having control over the kind of sound I wanted to make, the people I wanted to work with, and the tracks on the project – it was freeing and allowed me to be honest. I’m excited for people to listen to this EP and understand me more as an artist. While ‘Better Man’ showcased my vocal ability, this project shows my range, and what I’m truly capable of.”
