Hertfordshire four-piece Second Thoughts return with new indie fizzer ‘How Would You Know’.
The Hitchin band have a fine line in whipsmart indie pop, wrapping acerbic yet thoughtful lyrics around superb ear-worm choruses. With hooks for days, the band’s recent EP ‘Nicotine Stains’ became a breakout moment, propelled by DIY touring.
Heading back into the studio, Second Thoughts are prepping their new ‘Fluke’ EP, aiming to end the year on a high.
New single ‘How Would You Know’ is an excellent comeback, a taut slice of pop-edged indie rock that rattles along at a breakneck pace. The chorus stays lodged in your mind for hours, while the lyrics push back against outside perceptions.

“The song is really about people not respecting what you think or want to do. People often think they know what’s best for you, but often it can leave you sad and unfulfilled. It’s about following your own path and doing things that are important to you and you’re passionate about.”
