Ryan Garcia was left utterly stunned and wanting to spar with Alex Pereira after watching the Brazilian’s explosive highlights from his amateur boxing days.

It seems ‘Poatan’ was rendering his opponents unconscious long before his days in Glory and the UFC.

Ryan Garcia blown away after watching Alex Pereira fight in the amateur boxing ranks

Throughout his career, Alex Pereira has proven himself as one of the heaviest punchers to have ever walked the face of the Earth, knocking a plethora of world-level fighters out cold with his fearsome left hook.

The likes of Israel Adesanya and Jamahal Hill have both fallen foul to the devastating power that has allowed the dangerous athlete to become a world champion in not just one but two sports.

However, way before he ever became the sporting star he is today, he was demolishing his rivals in the amateur boxing ranks.

Happy Punch posted a compilation of the heavy hitter’s early days in combat sports, featuring an array of horrifying knockouts.

The second shot is particularly impressive, as the Earth-shattering impact of the blow results in Poatan’s rival falling through the ropes.

The package is so frightening that it’s even caught the attention of Ryan Garcia, who’s confirmed that he’d love the opportunity to trade leather with the UFC star inside the gym.

He posted on Twitter: “People don’t understand how hard it is to knock out people cold in the amateurs. I would love to train with Alex. Let’s make it happen.”
