Public Image LTD. Share New Single ‘Car Chase’

Public Image LTD. have shared their brand new single, ‘Car Chase’.

Out now, the track is a riveting flash of escapism drawing together the forces of John Lydon, Lu Edmonds, Scott Firth and Bruce Smith once more. Carried by its hard-hitting groove, ‘Car Chase’ continues to meld the influences of rock, dance, folk and dub. The track inches towards the release of 11th studio album ‘End Of World’, set to arrive on 11th August.

Lyrically, band frontman Lydon paints an eerie listen, explaining that “it’s about someone who cleverly breaks out of the mental institution every night, unbeknownst to his owners. It’s based on having to go to shopping malls at night for cigarettes and wine, and seeing the vast carpark space and lighting surrounded by a little village and a lot of dark trees and country lanes”

Accompanied by visuals that feature Lydon’s own handwriting, ‘Car Chase’ reveals the forthcoming album’s creative process through a montage of clips and snippets.

Having last released a full body of work 8 years ago, Public Image LTD. are gearing up towards their highly anticipated return with a 38-date UK & European Tour. Set to kick off in September, the tour will celebrate one of the most influential bands of all time, a legendary moment for the band’s continuously growing fanbase.
