PPJ Share Exuberant New EP ‘Trinidade’

Ultra-colourful Parisian collective PPJ have shared their new EP ‘Trinidade’.

The trio – Páula, Povoa And Jerge – live close together in the 18eme arrondissement of Paris, only a few streets away from one another, in fact.

With extensive solo catalogues, each are noted in their own right. Producer Jules Rosset aka Povoa is prepping releases on Southern Fried Records and Cocoon Recordings, while Jerge blends production work with Myd alongside a role in Christine and the Queens live band.

Brazilian / French singer Páula is charged with interpreting their sonic ideas, adding a pop focus to this myriad of club sounds. Moving between Baile funk and synth-pop, Caribbean textures and French disco, the trio’s new EP is an exuberant riot of sound.

Forged by happy accidents, ‘Trinidade’ offers seven songs that continually engage. A globe-trotting three-piece, in reality they’re offering the sounds of Paris’ 18eme arrondissement. “We have Ed Banger on our street, and Record Makers is two streets away,” says Jerge. “Sometimes I bump into Gaspard Augé from Justice at the local bakery.”
