Playboi Carti and Travis Scott unite on new single ‘BACKR00MS’.
Out now, the single was heavily teased on socials, and went live a few hours ago. Unleashed in full, it’s a potent Stateside rap burner, with the heavy use of effects creating something slick, but also disorienting and distinctive.
It’s the fourth time Playboi Carti and Travis Scott have worked together, with the single also listing SexIsDeath and Indiana420Bitch as collaborators.
The full video is online now – trending globally on YouTube, it features the pair taking it turns to rap in a darkened garage, while Playboi Carti showers a dancer with money.
Playboi Carti’s previous album ‘Whole Lotta Red’ landed in 2020. In February of 2023, he was arrested for allegedly assaulting and choking his pregnant girlfriend.
The rapper is rumoured to appear on the new Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign album, ‘Vultures’, which has already experienced multiple delays.
