Leeds hardcore crew make their mark…

09 · 08 · 2024

Leeds hardcore crew Pest Control have shared their new single ‘Time Bomb’.

The city has a deep punk and hardcore heritage – hell, Henry Rollins even called it home at one point. The pandemic saw the various members of Pest Control left to their own devices, with their previous groups calling it quits – as lockdown receded, they decided to kick off rehearsals on something new.

Quickly gaining traction across the North of England’s close-knit DIY communities, Pest Control blend hardcore ferocity – and accuracy – with the all-out sludge of thrash. New EP ‘Year Of The Pest’ is out this Autumn, and you can catch Pest Control in London this Saturday (August 10th) at Number 90 Live.

New single ‘Time Bomb’ is explosive – you can hear shards of Social Distortion in there, while the wild lead guitar sound echoes Bad Brains; the pummelling low-end recalls the impact of ‘Ride The Lightning’, but it’s far more than mere reference points – there’s a distinctive energy here, too.

Tune in now.
