Montreal artist Ouri has shared new single ‘Baby Has A Frown’.
The composer’s 2021 album ‘Frame Of A Fauna’ was exceptional, blending her thirst for electronic expression with usage of her classical background. Since then, she’s embarked on collaborative endeavours, all while sharpening her own skills.
Out now, new single ‘Baby Has A Frown’ is a surprise drop, and comes ahead of her North American tour with Charlotte Day Wilson.
Deconstructing her electronic obsessions, the track emerges as a kind of reimagined dance music, blurring the lines between underground techno and modern classical composition.
Pulling from her past as a cellist and harpist, it attempts to bring together the opposing lineages within her work into a seamless whole. Ouri comments…
“This song is an infinite dance of polarities. I wanted it to feel like a mantra and a choreographed pursuit. A slow and deep euphoria playing on loop in your head. Following ‘Twin’ and ‘blueprints of us’, I’m accelerating into this new sonic world where all my sides merge as one.”
