The latest ‘Wild God’ preview…

29 · 05 · 2024

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds have shared potent new song ‘Frogs’.

The group’s new album ‘Wild God’ is out on August 30th, the eighteenth album in their illustrious career. Produced by Cave and Warren Ellis, and mixed by David Fridmann, the record takes the band – once more – in a fresh direction.

New song ‘Frogs’ is out now, a powerful work of brooding emotion. Nick Cave’s lyrics turn once more to the Old Testament for inspiration, a frequent source in both his lyric work, and his prose fiction.

Referencing Cain’s slaying of Abel, the opening lyrics are: “Ushering in the week he knelt down and crushed his brother’s head in with a bone / It’s my great privilege to walk you home.”

Moving between light and darkness, the intensity of emotion makes it a personal favourite of the songwriter. Nick Cave comments…

“The sheer exuberance of a song like ‘Frogs’, it just puts a big fucking smile on my face.”

Tune in now.
