In this video I show how a Japanese motorcycle wafer lock works. Most Japanese bikes use locks similar to the lock in this video. I think most Harley Davidson bikes now use a tubular lock, and I am not sure about European bikes. I have seen different lock technologies used on the European bikes. The older Harley bikes will use wafer locks, and I think some of the low end bikes like the Sportster still use the wafer locks, but I am not sure. The auto industry has been moving toward electronic security systems since the 90’s, and that will eventually migrate and take over the motorcycle industry as well.
