Mick Jenkins will release new album ‘The Patience’ on August 18th.

The Chicago rapper’s 2021 album ‘Elephant In The Room’ was an emphatic artistic success, the work of an artist in full flow. Clash reviewer Niall Smith wrote at the time: “Mick didn’t make this album for the RapCaviar playlists, nor for the faint-hearted. The album sounds like a snapshot of a man who’s seen too much, but also a man who strives for much more out of life.”

New album ‘The Patience’ is out on August 18th, and it features a glittering cast. Guests include Freddie Gibbs, Benny The Butcher, Vic Mensa, and JID, while production credits include Stoic, Berg, Vnsn, and – curiously – British artist Venna.

“A lot of these new songs were made when I stopped focusing on a concept and just wrote spontaneously to the beat,” says Mick Jenkins. “It gave me a new level of freedom.”

New single ‘Guapanese’ is out now – check it out below.
