Michael Blackwell steps into the limelight on punchy new single ‘Nothing Makes Sense’.

Out now, it finds a figure often viewed in the shadows moving to centre stage. Picking up the guitar when only 10 years old, he’s become a successful session musician, playing enormous venues alongside the likes of Lewis Capaldi.

Recently touring the UK with his friend Isaac Anderson, he’s the current tour guitarist for Louis Tomlinson – as you can see, he’s definitely in demand.

After being encouraged by friends – both famous, and rather less well known – Michael Blackwell hit the studio to work on some of his own ideas. New single ‘Nothing Makes Sense’ emerged from this – an alt-rock blaster, it pivots between catchy pop elements and a fire worthy of INHALER or Nothing But Thieves.

Mixed by John Catlin (Inhaler, The Killers, Crows, Foals) and mastered by Brian Lucey (Liam Gallagher, Royal Blood, The Last Shadow Puppets, Arctic Monkeys), it’s the perfect vehicle for this rising songwriter’s imagination. Michael Blackwell comments…

‘Nothing Makes Sense’ is a song about the struggles of understanding everyday life. It is easy to feel pressure from social media, confusion from your news feed and uncertainty over each decision you have to make, even with the most optimistic mindset self doubt can be unavoidable.

I know my shortcomings, my strengths and weaknesses and I have realised all I can do is try my best even if the world around me seems chaotic

Tune in now.
