Former UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway is down to head to the boxing ring.

‘Blessed’ returned to the octagon earlier this month against Arnold Allen. In the main event of UFC Kansas City, Holloway scored a unanimous decision win over ‘The Almighty’. In the process, the Hawaiian ended Allen’s 12-fight winning streak and got back on the winning track.

Following the victory, the former titleholder admitted that he wasn’t sure what would be next. Holloway pitched a potential rematch with Conor McGregor, while also holding out hope for one final crack at Alexander Volkanovski. However, the featherweight contender also offered another option on The MMA Hour.

There, Max Holloway teased a potential boxing match against Gervonta Davis. The featherweight contender stated that ‘Tank’ is following in Floyd Mayweather’s footsteps, and he would love to replicate a part of the legend’s career. That part was the former four-division champion’s 2017 boxing match with Conor McGregor.

The former UFC champion joked that he would talk trash to Davis, and make the matchup a big one. However, Holloway added that he hopes the boxer doesn’t put a rehydration clause into his contract, as he did for his recent fight against Ryan Garcia.

Max Holloway discusses boxing match against Gervonta Davis

“Let’s make a big fight with ‘Tank’ or something. Floyd Mayweather and ‘Tank’, and ‘Tank’ is following Floyd Mayweather’s recipe to the key so,” Max Holloway stated on The MMA Hour. “Why not he fight an MMA guy and we do a big one? I can s*it talk to him, just don’t put no hydration clause in it, like he did to my man Garcia. That would be a fun one.”

He continued, “… At the end of the day man, that’s tough. But I’d love to do a big one, maybe MGM like how they did the Conor stuff.”
