Lois has shared her new ‘Strange Me’ EP in full.
The Leeds pop voice is making her mark, with a flurry of excellent tongue-in-cheek singles. Matching her over-sharing tendencies to bubbling melodies, she recently supported The Lottery Winners at the Manchester Albert Hall, while she’s also played key sets at the likes of Highest Point Festival, Live at Leeds, and Liverpool Sound City.
Reminiscent of Olivia Dean in her precocious touch, while having the soulful appeal of Joy Crookes, say, the songwriter is busy stamping out her identity. New EP ‘Strange Me’ goes a long way to sketching in the details, boasting fan favourites such as ‘Strong’ or the enchanting title song.
‘Running’ has become the focus track, and it’s a catchy, summer-fresh single, just right for the Bank Holiday weekend. Lois comments…
‘Running’ is about the connection you feel with a loved one after they’ve gone, feeling their presence in the most unexpected ways. I wrote this about processing grief. I lost someone very dear to me a few years ago.
Navigating grief for anyone is difficult but as a young person it was extremely hard. I’m writing about trying to feel someone’s presence after they’re gone. Dreaming of them and it being so clear you thought it was real. … For me, it’s being out in the rain because it feels like they’re there with me.
Tune in now.
