Lil Boat continues an impressive creative run…

19 · 07 · 2024

Lil Yachty is one of the hardest working people in rap music right now. Despite being met with resistance by older heads at the beginning of his career, he’s become a visionary creative across multiple styles and disciplines, making each new move difficult to predict (just three weeks ago he released a full-length album with James Blake).

Over the past twelve months he’s been consistently releasing singles that showcase his taste-making ear and passion for rap music, as well as touring extensively, launching his new crew Concrete Boys and his A Safe Place podcast.

Today he returns with a new single ‘Let’s Get On Dey Ass’, a rage rap banger landing right in time for festival season. The accompanying Zhamak-directed video follows Yachty’s signature lo-fi aesthetic, and sees him joined by his Concrete Boys crew in matching vintage outfits as he shops and hangs out with model and social media star Teanna Trump.

There’s no telling what’s next for Yachty, but we’ll continue to be impressed as long as he maintains this momentum.
