Marvel Studios has the number one movie in the world and just broke the buzziest casting news in recent memory. What else does Marvel have up its sleeves this summer? Well, next week, surely there will be some more news and footage revealed at the D23 Expo in Anaheim, CA, but the studio also just added several new movies to the release schedule.
Hot off the news out of San Diego Comic-Con this week, Disney made it official that Avengers: Doomsday is replacing The Kang Dynasty on May 1, 2026. New titles for The Fantastic Four: First Steps and Thunderbolts* (adding the asterisk) were both officially changed on the schedule. Then, the other big stuff. An untitled movie scheduled for release on July 24, 2026 was removed from the schedule, and two new movies—one on July 23, 2027 and another on November 5, 2027—were added.
Still on the schedule with no change are Captain America: New World Order on February 14, 2025, Blade on November 7, 2025 (more on that in a second), and Avengers: Secret Wars on May 7, 2027, along with untitled films on February 13, 2026 and November 6, 2026.
So, here’s what we got, and the order here is key so it’s important to do this:
- Captain America: Brave New World – February 14, 2025
- Thunderbolts* – May 2, 2025
- The Fantastic Four: First Steps – July 25, 2025
- Blade – November 7, 2025
- Untitled Marvel – February 13, 2026
- Avengers: Doomsday – May 1, 2026
- Untitled Marvel – November 6, 2026
- Avengers: Secret Wars – May 7, 2027
- Untitled Marvel – July 23, 2027
- Untitled Marvel – November 5, 2027
The first thing that jumps out there is Blade in 2025. After all of the turmoil around that movie, and the recent Deadpool & Wolverine joke—not to mention it’s the fourth movie at a time when three seems to be ideal—we have to think, eventually, that’s getting moved or removed.
Beyond that, the February 13, 2026 movie feels like it has to lead into Doomsday somehow, so maybe Shang-Chi 2? And the November 6, 2026 movie coming between the two Avengers movies would probably be something a little on the side of it. Potentially Armor Wars or Doctor Strange 3?
As for 2027, who the heck knows? But you have to imagine that, coming after Secret Wars as the potential start of Marvel’s next Phase, one of them has to be a new Deadpool or X-Men movie.
Oh, and don’t forget about Spider-Man. A fourth Tom Holland Spider-Man is definitely happening but would be a Sony release, not a Marvel/Disney. Maybe that’s why the July 2026 Marvel movie was moved, to make way for Spider-Man.
And then there’s the question of when will we get answers to all of this. The obvious place would’ve been last week at Comic-Con but that’s come and gone. Could the D23 Expo be that? Or will Marvel wait until next year’s Comic-Con to peer into the future? We’ll be waiting right along with you to find out.
