Groovy songwriting with a psychedelic tint…

21 · 06 · 2024

LDRDO has gifted fans with his new album ‘On The Road’.

The songwriter was brought up in Tel Aviv, and blends an awareness of his roots with a desire to reach out towards the universal. Daring musicality with a penchant for melody, LDRDO shared his debut EP ‘Lost In The Fire’ to widespread acclaim.

Suitably emboldened, LDRDO – it’s actually pronounced El Dorado – went back into the studio, aiming to build his first full length record.

The records are truly curious. Taking the indie-soul of Brittany Howard, say, the timbre of his voice recalls Michael Kiwanuka’s searching artistry.

It’s all rooted in funky grooves, sounds that recall lost Turkish psychedelic records, and the odd blast of Greek culture. A real blend, this audio stew transforms ‘On The Road’ into a magical journey.

He comments…

“‘On the Road’ is a concept album based on my semi-autobiographical journey after a crisis and my decision to refocus my life. Taking the same title from Jack Kerouac’s legendary book, this piece is heavily influenced by American road stories alongside my home culture in the Middle East.”

Out now, ‘On The Road’ searches for freedom – tune in now.
