Coach has teamed up with Kirsten Dunst and Los Angeles-based illustrator and designer Jessica Herschko for a whimsical collection for summer. Coach x Observed By Us features a series of ready-to-wear pieces, footwear and accessories with cute embroidered patches and designs from dinosaurs to fantastical mushrooms redesigned through Stuart Vevers’ classic American lens.
Vevers took inspiration from Dunst’s personal wardrobe when putting together the collection of soft, folky, ultra-feminine pieces that range from sun dresses and light flowing skirts to cropped pointelle knits and heart-shaped cross-body bags. Each piece in the collection features unique story patches – a Coach classic – and Herschko’s own handwriting. Evocative of hazy California evenings, Coach x Observed By Us delivers laid-back, nostalgic energy with vintage-inspired pieces and soft, muted colourways.
“Creating this collection with Kirsten and Jessica was delightful,” said Vevers of the collaboration. “We got to celebrate our shared love of imagination and playfulness. Kirsten, and her style, have often been an inspiration for me. So, to design alongside her and Jessica, and to blend their vivid storytelling and colour with our own American heritage design language and craftsmanship was really inspiring.”
Dunst and Hershko have been working together on ‘Observed By Us’ since 2020. Looking to “evoke a special, happy feeling and a sense of appreciation for both the natural and the man-made” Herschko said in a statement from the brand. “It was very fun to collaborate with Coach because, much like us, they see a world of possibility in the small details and have the ability to execute that perfectly.”
