Kelela has shared the startling new video for her song ‘On The Run’.
Out now, the single marks a fresh era for the avant R&B auteur, melding left-field electronics, dynamic club tropes, and a scintillating vocal. Bambii assisted on production, and the two appear in the new video, one that is every bit as engaging as the song itself.
‘On The Run’ is a feast of lucid colour, with director Lee Wei See crafting something arresting, jarring, and totally gripping. An absolute joyride, the video comes close to veering out of control before being brought in line for a titanic finale.
It’s the first instalment of Kelela’s upcoming album, with ‘Raven’ set to land through Warp on February 10th. That’s not all, either – she’s hitting the road in 2023, and will play London’s Outernet on April 7th.
