London artist Jords shares new double-single ‘Stay Close’ and ‘Mo Bay’.

Jords is easily one of the most talented artists in the country right now, someone who can honestly do anything – as a rapper, he moves in multiple lanes, while he’s also blessed with a melodic singing voice and a palpable sense of charisma.

Right now, he’s building towards a full length project, one that will mark the first UK rap album to be released on Motown Records.

New single ‘Stay Close’ nods to his Jamaican heritage, and it features dancehall kingpin Kranium on the track. A dream come true for Jords, who comments: “It was really special to have Kranium on the album. I had to share that part of my identity with the world in a way that meant something real. It was such a smooth process getting him on board and he killed it.”

Production on fiery new burner ‘Stay Close’ comes from Toddla T, and the directness is contrasted by the hushed, lights-down-low theme of ‘Mo Bay’ and its wonderful Tay Iwar guest vocal.

Jords comments…

“Both of these songs are inspired by Jamaica, and inspired by love. I’ve always wanted to make songs that make people want to fall in love, feel sexy, and ring off in the sun.”

Renee Osubu has worked intimately with Jords to build videos for ‘Stay Close’ and ‘Mo Bay’, which interlock to become an entrancing, revelatory story on Blackness, masculinity, and inter-generational unity.

Tune in now.
