I’m making the movie because I want to make that movie,” Hamm says of remaking Fletch, which he’s eager to make a sequel. “And hopefully it becomes a proof of concept, and you can go, ‘Look, it’s really funny. Wouldn’t the people want to see more of this?’ And hopefully they will. We’re trying to find someone. We have the script.”

It’s being renovated, and it’ll be ready at the end of the year,” says Hamm. “So, we’re staying in the Village now [while he’s filming an Apple drama]. It does not suck.”

But I’m pretty comfortable in most rooms. Sarah [Silverman] is now my neighbor and she’ll have pool parties or we’ll play cards or it’ll be a fun group. And for me, to be with those funny people, it’s such a pleasure center and it engages my brain in a way that makes me feel relevant and fun and clever.”
