Jessy Lanza returns with new song ‘Don’t Leave Me Now’.

The Canadian artist shared her DJ-Kicks mix back in 2021, but new material since then has been thin on the ground. Re-connecting with long-term home Hyperdub, she’s just shared divine new cut ‘Don’t Leave Me Now’ which feels like a distinct injection of confidence.

The production touches on the fringes of house, while her effervescent vocal embodies a certain kind of swagger. It’s all built with intention, too – Jessy wrote the song in respond to almost being hit by a car after she first arrived in LA. The incident triggered an event of agoraphobia, and the process of dealing with this led to ‘Don’t Leave Me Now’.

Out now, the song is an all-out bouncer, and it comes with visuals directed by Winston H. Case. In the clip Jessy Lanza gets her strut on, hitting the streets of LA, while turning the tables on an intrusive camera-man.

Tune in now.
