An easy-going soundtrack for the transitional seasons…

Jaguar Sun and Husbands have merged forces on breezy single ‘First Time Caller’.

Now available on cassette and streaming platforms, the track is an autumnal warmer, illustrative in its easy-going strums and hazy synths. Leaning towards the alternative, Jaguar Sun’s instrumentation pieces together a pop-flavoured exploration of distance between relationships.

Chris Minielly first birthed the alias Jaguar Sun as a solo project, now extending his performance alongside a band. The Toronto native’s sound palette is one immersed in the likes of  STRFKR, Youth Lagoon and Panda Bear.

Alternatively the union of Husbands, otherwise known as Danny Davis and Will Norton, routes all the way back to college, now seeing the two share stages with Wavves, Ratbodys and Surfer Blood. The Oklahoma City duo are songwriters to their core, able to command their crowds and fuse their experience into one.

Both Jaguar Sun and Husbands have spent the last month on tour together, shifting their collaborative approach across Canada and the USA. ‘First Time Caller’ marks the start of their creative journey, sparking a natural synergy between the two.

They comment:

“’First Time Caller’ is a song about being in a different emotional place than someone close to you who is going through a hard time and trying to bridge the gap and express an understanding, despite a feeling of growing distance. Essentially, it’s about trying to be a good friend. It’s Husbands’ first official collaboration song with anybody and we’re stoked we could do it together. Old fans, first-time collaborators”.
