How To Make Arrows In Minecraft
Arrows are the primary source of ammunition for any Bow in Minecraft, so make sure you know how to make them.
Making a bow in Minecraft is only half the battle when it comes to fighting enemies at long distances, as you have to possess a solid stockpile of arrows for the bow to shoot. The crafting process of arrows is similar to that of the bow but requires a couple of additional resources that you might not know where to find. You can see the entire crafting process for arrows in Minecraft in the guide below.
Making Arrows in Minecraft
A simple arrow requires three total resources, two of which are easily available at the start of Minecraft. The other resource isn’t difficult to acquire by any means, but you won’t be able to add it to your inventory immediately. The full arrow crafting recipe is viewable below:
- At a crafting table, place a single piece of Charcoal in the top middle box.
- Then, place a single Stick in the middle box and a Feather in the bottom middle box.
With that recipe, you can make four arrows (1:4 ratio). So if you wanted to make 100 arrows, for example, you would need 20 Charcoal, Sticks, and Feathers each.
Sticks are extremely easy to acquire, as all you need to do is place a single Plank of any kind in the center of a crafting table. Sticks are also used in the production of bows as well as numerous other early game recipes. Moving on, Charcoal can be crafted by placing a log of any kind into a furnace and pairing it with any fuel source. The simplest fuel source to use is coal, as you can find that by mining in just about any Minecraft biome.
Finally, Feathers are most commonly acquired by killing chickens, as the creature drops anywhere from zero to two upon its death. Chickens are located in most Minecraft biomes, with the grass biomes being the most common place to find them. You can also kill parrots for one to two Feathers and find the resource on shipwrecks and villages via chests.
Once you have all the materials you need, place them into the crafting table and craft your arrows. With the arrows in your inventory, you can pull out your bow and start firing at anything that comes your way in Minecraft.
