Headie One has finally shared fan favourite ‘Martin’s Sofa’.
The track leaked online last year, and quickly became a viral phenomenon. Headie’s team moved to take the track down, but the genie was out the bottle – ‘Martin’s Sofa’ was basically a hit, but scarcely anyone could hear it.
Trailed in Headie One’s last single ’50s’ – “the fans calling for ‘Martin’s Sofa’, it might be the first single from my second…” – the tag #whereismartinssofa went trending on TikTok.
A few moments ago, Headie One finally shared ‘Martin’s Sofa’ in full, via Relentless Records. The flow goes hard, but his lyricism has scarcely been so emotive and open; a frank deception of loss, it’s dedicated to the titular Martin, an old friend who helped Headie when he was at his lowest.
Nathan Tetty directs the video, which actually features the original sofa – a real full circle moment.
