Giant Swan’s ‘Fantasy Food’ EP Is A Fantastic Return

Bristol duo Giant Swan have shared their ‘Fantasy Food’ EP in full.

A project whose sound moves between techno’s fragmented left-field on the physical impact of noise or hardcore punk, Giant Swan recently unveiled plans for a new project. While a continual live endeavour, the pair’s last release – the excellent EP ‘Do Not Be Afraid Of Tenderness’ – came back in 2021.

Their first release in two years, ‘Fantasy Food’ is another dizzying trip into the unknown. The title track opens with glitchy AFX electronics before settling into a warped techno groove, while hard-hitting opener ‘Sugar & Air’ feels like a dense, heavyweight spin on electro, worthy of those seminal Fade To Mind releases.

‘Boasting’ is a pitch black electronic chugger, while closer ‘RRR+1’ is bracingly intense, Giant Swan communicating an encyclopaedia’s-worth of system information into one track.

Truly, nobody does it better.
