Complex analysis is the branch of mathematical analysis that analyses the functions of complex numbers. In mathematics, complex analysis is known as the theory of functions of a complex variable. Complex analysis is helpful in many branches of mathematics, including algebraic geometry, number theory, analytic combinatorics, applied mathematics; as well as in physics, including the branches of hydrodynamics, thermodynamics and quantum mechanics. By extension, use of complex analysis also has applications in engineering fields such as nuclear, aerospace, mechanical and electrical engineering. In this video lecture one can learn about complex variables. The basic definition of derivatives, analytic functions, Cauchy – Riemann equations with proof and analyticity of exponential, trigonometric, logarithmic functions of complex variables using Cauchy Riemann equations have been discussed.
