Frankie Rose has shared her dreamy new cut ‘Sixteen Ways’.
The songwriter continues her solo journey on incoming album ‘Love As Projection’, which lands on March 10th via the ever-vital independent label Night School Records. Her fifth studio LP to date, it finds Frankie Rose digging deep, and casting her songwriting in new hues.
‘Sixteen Ways’ has a hazy, gauzy feel, the gossamer synths underpinning a beaut of a vocal from the American artist. Beneath this, however, the lyrics deal with disappointment and regret – she comments…
“Counting the ways that things can unexpectedly fall apart on you before anything has even happened. It’s about getting your hopes up, but simultaneously making lists in your head about how it will never work out in your favour.”
The video has an 80s flavour, with the colour-saturated clip tapping into the aesthetic of David Lynch in the process. Frankie Rose adds: “I wanted to make a dance video choreographed by 80s Baby (Neil Shwartz) but with the ESPTV (Scott Kiernan) aesthetic. I trusted them completely and just let them create a world for me. The result is a video that feels like a fever dream in the black lodge complete with my very own machine elves.”
Tune in now.
