Everyone loves giant robots that can shoot deadly lasers. Thankfully, you can have one of your own in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth once you reach the Corel region. Here’s our guide on how to get the Alexander summon in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.

How to get the Alexander summon in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

You should be able to get the Alexander summon upon reaching Chapter 6: Fool’s Paradise. This portion of the campaign begins in North Corel – Costa del Sol, which is also where you can obtain additional swimsuits and alternate attires.

Similar to most other summons, you battle Alexander via Chadley’s Combat Simulator. However, it’s up to you if you want to do that immediately, or if you prefer to wait until you’ve analyzed all summon crystals in the region.

Alexander summon crystal locations

The Alexander summon in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth has three crystals that can be used to weaken the entity prior to the battle. But here’s the kicker: only the first one is available during Chapter 6. The other two are in the desert of South Corel, which can only be accessed upon obtaining the Buggy vehicle at the start of Chapter 9. As such, it’s really up to you if you want to fight Alexander completely weakened, or only partially weakened (i.e. just one crystal analyzed).

In any case, here are the locations of the summon crystals:

  • Crystal #1 – Inside a small cavern south of the dirt path entrance to the Corel Mines.
  • Crystal #2 – You should spot several abandoned structures, which allow you to use your grappling hook to reach the top.
  • Crystal #3 – Go close to the ravine that separates the two plateaus. You should then see grapple points that take you to the opposite ledge.

  • Crystal #2: Circle-X-wait-Circle-wait-Circle-X-wait-Circle.
  • Crystal #3: Square-Circle-Circle-wait-Square-Circle-Circle.

Alexander boss fight

Alexander is highly resistant to most forms of damage until you cripple both its arms. Likewise, abilities such as Radiant Wave, Wave Cannon, and Punitive Sphere cause it to accumulate “karma” energy. The higher it is, the stronger the damage of its Divine Judgment ultimate, which it will unleash later on. You may try casting Esuna to remove some debilitating effects, too.

Alexander abilities when summoned

Once Alexander has been defeated, its summon materia is yours for the taking. Here’s what it can do during fights:

  • Summon Cost: 2 ATB once the summon meter is fully charged.
  • Tracking Beam – Fire myriad lasers at an enemy; costs 1 ATB.
  • Grand Laser – Shoot an enormous beam of light at a target; costs 2 ATB.
  • Ultimate: Divine Judgment – Deal a massive amount of non-elemental magic damage.

This is how you get the Alexander summon in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. While it doesn’t sing and dance on Broadway, it does pew-pew lasers to make quick work of foes. In any case, you can learn about other powerful entities in our all summon materia guide.
