Tekashi 6ix9ine Hospitalized After Being Violently Attacked In LA Fitness Sauna
Yesterday, the New York rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine was hospitalized after being beaten by a group of men at a gym in South Florida. TMZ reports that 6ix9ine was in a sauna at an LA Fitness gym, without security, when several men, apparently unprovoked, attacked him.
Tekashi 6ix9ine was hospitalized after being attacked in a South Florida gym Tuesday, his lawyer said.

The 26-year-old rapper was in the sauna when three or four people approached him and “beat him up,” attorney Lance Lazzaro said.

He said 6ix9ine tried to fight back. A video posted on social media showed the rapper, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, walking through the gym with blood on his face.

“He had cuts to his face and bruises. Employees heard the disturbance and the perpetrators fled. Police in South Florida were called and he was transported via ambulance to a local hospital,” Lazzaro said in a statement.

It’s not clear if 6ix9ine is still hospitalized.

In 2019, 6ix9ine was sentenced to a reduced two years in federal prison after pleading guilty to multiple counts of racketeering, firearms offenses and drug trafficking. He could have been sentenced to 47 years but prosecutors recommended a lesser sentence after he helped prosecutors put away two leaders of a violent New York gang. He was released early the following year.

6ix9ine has been hospitalized after being “savagely” beaten at a gym in Florida.

According to TMZ, the Brooklyn rapper (real name Daniel Hernandez) was attacked by a group of men inside a sauna at an LA Fitness in South Florida on Tuesday (March 21).

6ix9ine’s attorney, Lance Lazzaro, says his client tried to fight off the attackers, but was outnumbered and badly beaten before he managed to flee. The rapper did not have security with him at the time.

Police and paramedics were called to the scene after gym staff heard the commotion, resulting in 6ix9ine being taken via ambulance to a local hospital.

A video of the attack posted on Instagram shows 6ix9ine lying on the floor protecting his head as two men stand over him and kick and punch him.

“Bitch ass! Clown ass n-gga!” one of the men can be heard shouting while roughing up the rainbow-haired rapper. “Take a picture! I want to be famous now, n-gga!”

The video’s caption reads: “King Shit we caught 6ix9ine slipping fuck a rat ADR not on our hood,” suggesting the attack was sparked by 6ix9ine’s history of snitching.

Footage of the aftermath of the attack also surfaced online, showing the “GUMMO” rapper sporting a swollen and bloodied face as he makes his way through the gym.

“They jumped me,” he can be heard saying while a fellow gym goer who claimed to be a fan records him.

A photo of 6ix9ine’s injuries obtained by TMZ provides an even closer look at his swollen, bruised and bloodied face. He also reportedly suffered injuries to his jaw, ribs and back.

Lazzaro stated he plans to call the authorities to make sure 6ix9ine gets the protection he needs going forward.

The 26-year-old has yet to publicly address the attack, but a number of his rap peers were quick to share their reactions on social media, with many of them reveling in his misfortune.
“@6ix9ine damn gang we praying for yo puss ass n-gga hit when u see this,” joked 6ix9ine’s Chicago rival Lil Reese on his Instagram Stories.

He continued to rub salt into the wound by sharing a link to an online fundraiser collecting donations to help 6ix9ine pay for his hospital bills.

Fellow Chi-Town native Chief Keef also seemed to enjoy watching 6ix9ine get beaten up as he tweeted out two crying face emojis on Tuesday night.

TMZ has video of the attack — not taken from security cameras but apparently from somebody’s social media account. The onscreen caption says, “we caught 6ix9ine slipping fuck a rat ADR not in our hood.” In the video, 6ix9ine is curled up on a bathroom floor, protecting his face, while one guy stomps on him and barks at him: “Take a picture! I wanna be famous now!” The video also shows a shaken 6ix9ine leaving the bathroom under his own power while someone, probably the person holding the phone, says, “I’m not gonna lie, I’m a fan, bro.”

According to TMZ, 6ix9ine’s lawyer Lance Lazzaro says that 6ix9ine “tried to fight off the combatants, but there were too many of them, beating him to a pulp before fleeing.” A gym manager called police and medical services, and 6ix9ine was taken to the hospital in an ambulance. TMZ has also posted a photo of a bloodied 6ix9ine.
