Do Nothing will release debut album ‘Snake Sideways’ on June 30th.
The Nottingham band have built a dogged cult following across some sterling singles, building to excellent 2021 EP ‘Glueland’. Hitting the studio with producer Andy Savours, Do Nothing have now outlined plans for their incoming debut album.
Out on June 30th, ‘Snake Sideways’ is trailed by a new single, with Do Nothing placing ‘Amoeba’ online. An atmospheric piece of black-edged indie rock, there’s an ominous paranoia to the band’s swaggering songwriting.
Vocalist Chris Bailey says…
“As far as I remember ‘Amoeba’ is about my girlfriend leaving the house to go to work and be useful, and me laying on the sofa feeling dumb and watching annoying news on TV. It muses about how the media decides what we all care about on a two week rotation – sometimes it feels like we all get angry about something for a few weeks until the TV/internet decides it’s time for us to think about something else. It’s also about the fact that making music can often feel pretty unimportant; some folks are firefighters while I spend all my time massaging my own ego.”
‘Amoeba’ boasts visuals constructed by CLUMP Collective, who tap into the hidden cartoonish horror roots of the band’s music.
