DIY How to Replace Motorcycle Fork Oil Yamaha FZ6 FZ6R
This is a common upgrade on the Yamaha FZ6 forks. Stock forks are very soft. In this video I replace the stock 5W oil wth 15W fork oil.
Here are the steps:
1) remove handle bars (optional)
2) loosen the fork caps
3) remove brake calipers
4) remove front fender
5) remove front wheel
6) unscrew fork pinch bolt and slide forks out
7) remove fork caps and drain oil
8) replace with new oil and put bike back together in reverse order
The whole process took me about 2 hours and the front end feels much sturdier now
