The Morgan family is making their prequel debut.

Paramount+ With Showtime has released first-look images for its Dexter prequel series Dexter: Original Sin, and the photos introduce viewers to the younger versions of the original show’s core characters: Patrick Gibson as Dexter Morgan, Christian Slater as Harry Morgan and Molly Brown as Debra Morgan.

The 10-episode thriller takes place 15 years before audiences first met Michael C. Hall‘s Dexter and will tell the story of the younger serial killer in training. Hall, who executive produces the prequel series, played the iconic TV character on the Showtime series that ran from 2006-2013 and reprised his role for the 2021 limited series Dexter: New Blood.

Original Dexter showrunner Clyde Phillips returns in the same capacity for Original Sin, which doesn’t yet have a premiere date.

Here is the logline: “Set in 1991 Miami, Dexter: Original Sin follows Dexter (Gibson) as he transitions from student to avenging serial killer. When his bloodthirsty urges can’t be ignored any longer, Dexter must learn to channel his inner darkness. With the guidance of his father, Harry (Slater), he adopts a Code designed to help him find and kill people who deserve to be eliminated from society without getting on law enforcement’s radar. This is a particular challenge for young Dexter as he begins a forensics internship at the Miami Metro Police Department.”
