Danger Mouse and Black Thought have shared the moving video for ‘Belize’.

The two combined on full length project ‘Cheat Codes’, which was released to outstanding acclaim earlier this year. The dense, layered production provided the perfect backdrop for Black Thought’s rhymes, resulting in what Clash termed “a gangsta rap album that describes a seedy world Black Thought hustles in and receives battle scars from…”

A record replete with guests, the album boasted one of MF DOOM’s final features. The masked MC took part in sessions for ‘Belize’ before his ascension in 2020, the soulful swagger augmented by his intricate rhymes.

A real high-point of the record, it also marked a re-union of Danger Mouse and MF DOOM, whose ‘DANGERDOOM’ collab remains a key touchstone in 21st century hip-hop.

The black and white video for ‘Belize’ becomes a salute to their fallen comrade, with his absence rendered in a simple but affecting manner.
