Bellator light-heavyweight Corey Anderson has again taken aim at former UFC champion Jamahal Hill.

‘Overtime’ recently booked a return to the cage for March against Karl Moore. At Bellator 302 in Ireland, Corey Anderson will look to finally become world champion. Fresh off a split-decision win over Phil Davis last summer, the longtime light-heavyweight contender is confident that he can get the job done.

For Corey Anderson, becoming a light-heavyweight champion would be an incredibly validating feeling. Not only because it would validate his career as a fighter. But, because Anderson also feels that the Bellator 205-pound division is better than the UFC’s. If one followed his feud with Jamahal Hill last year, that would come as no surprise.

In 2023, ‘Sweet Dreams’ and Corey Anderson went back and forth about their respective divisions. Speaking on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani earlier today, the Bellator contender seemingly reignited that feud. In the interview, Anderson again took aim at Jamahal Hill’s path to the title.

The former Bellator title challenger specifically alleged that Jamahal Hill didn’t have to fight many contenders to get a title shot. Whenever he did fight for UFC gold against Glover Teixeira, the light-heavyweight struggled more than Corey Anderson did against the Brazilian in 2018. ‘Overtime’ also referenced the fact that he took the fight against Teixeira on short notice as well.

Corey Anderson takes aim at Jamahal Hill and the UFC light-heavyweight division

“He said something about ‘You will never be this and that, and what you think about me’, bro I don’t think about you. I didn’t even say your name!” Corey Anderson stated on The MMA Hour earlier today, referring to Jamahal Hill. “That’s the reason he came in my inbox or whatever. I did an interview and didn’t mention him as one of the top light-heavyweights so he clapped back. He got offended because I didn’t mention him, but he doesn’t cross my mind or my radar.”

He continued, “Like, congrats. You beat a guy for the belt that I dominated on a week and a half notice, and you got cut up and beat up by him a little bit. So, that’s what you’re bragging on? Say what you want, we beat the same people. You knocked out Johnny Walker? I knocked out Johnny Walker. Just because you’ve got the belt, doesn’t me nothing. I said the 205-pound division in the UFC ain’t what it used to be.”

“Jamahal got that belt when [Aleksandar] Rakic, [Magomed] Ankalaev and Jan Blachowicz were all hurt.” Corey Anderson concluded on The MMA Hour. “I think all three of those guys are better than him. But, they were all out at the time when he got the call. He didn’t beat anybody, I said that, and he got mad.”
