 Unity can be a rare thing in electronic music. After all, it’s a sphere that encourages the long auteur, the singular voice. Working against the grain, United Freedom Collective is a name that covers three people, three distinctive voices coming together as one.

Spread somewhere between Cornwall, Margate, and London, Mathieu Seynaeve, WaiFung Tsang and Robbie Redway lean on house, left-field digitalism, and outer-national sounds, an aural mosaic that glitters with colour and potential.

Debut EP ‘Am Ta’ was recorded at multiple locations, and it follows recent outstanding guest spots on NTS and Worldwide FM. Deeply eclectic crate-diggers, this breadth slides into their own material, with United Freedom Collective hauling down the barriers.

Released on Maribou State’s own label, the EP is followed by a special in-depth mix for Clash, tapping into the fading rays of summer. Moving from wonky disco bangers to straight-up funk workouts via spoken word, West African highlife, and Detroit legend Moodymann, it’s a stellar selection.
