A heady, immersive selection…

Icelandic creative Jófríður Ákadóttir has never been content to sit in one space. An artist who works across multiple disciplines, she’s been a member of Pascal Pinon and Samaris, while she’s also collaborated with the likes of Ólafur Arnalds, Damien Rice, and Penelope Trappes. With Björk citing her as a key influence, Jófríður Ákadóttir has been able to leave her mark on those around her. Current project JFDR, however, may just be her finest moment yet.

New album ‘Museum’ is out on April 28th, combining fractal electronics with left-field pop aspects, resulting in something both left-field and completely accessible. Set to play shows in London and Brighton this year, she dubs the album a graduation point, of sorts.

“This album is a step to somewhere,” she said recently. “I feel I’m right in the middle of a new body of work.”

Ahead of the album’s release Clash invited JFDR to sculpt a special mix for our channels. Leaning on her electronic inspirations, she highlights some fellow Icelandic voices, as well as dropping a track from Hyperdub producer Proc Fiskal.

Closing with her own ‘Air Unfolding’, it’s a heady, atmospheric mix. Tune in below.
