Chloé Caillet is a force to be reckoned with. A sought-after DJ, she holds down a residency at Circoloco DC10, with her travels taking her everywhere from London clubbing redoubt fabric to Space Miami, Pacha Ibiza, and beyond.
Linking with CircoLoco Records for an incoming EP – the sixth release from the label – the project is made extra-special by the involvement of Rockstar Games. A means of elevating Chloé Caillet’s artistry, the project has been unrolling with a series of single drops – recent cut ‘Know How’ featured long-time Clash favourite Poté.
Ahead of the EP release, Chloé Caillet picked out a few of the female artists who inspire her – from underground club legends to post-punk queens via Gloria Estefan.

Barbara Boeing, Phil Mill – ‘Brigada‘
Great sunrise track from the formidable Barbara Boeing. I love the way this track evolves with subtle elements but keeps this uplifting vibe.

ESG – ‘Moody’
This second track is from one of my favourite female bands ESG from the 80s in NYC. Ever since I was a teenager, I’ve loved the way they blended pop, funk and punk. They have made some of my favourite records of all time and have inspired a lot of the music I make. My DJ sets now probably sound the way they do because of those early days listening sessions.

Róisín Murphy – ‘Innocence‘
Róisín Murphy is one of my favorite artists. I love the syncopated bassline over the consistently evolving groove with Róisín’s vocals floating over the top. This track gives me so much energy! Her impact on the scene is immeasurable. The way her career has transcended so many decades gives me hope for my own journey. I’ve learnt so much from watching Roisin perform over the years.

Ed Longo, Stella – ‘Detends-toi‘
‘Detends-toi’ has that slow walk on a boardwalk with a summer breeze vibe – the 80’s French touch Stella puts on things is simply unique.

Gloria Estefan, Miami Sound Machine – ‘Rhythm Is Gonna Get You’
One of my all-time favourite feel-good records. This track gets me going every time. Gloria Estefan is a queen!

Nia Archives – ‘Sunrise Bang Ur Head Against Tha Wall’
I’ve really been loving Nia Archives’ rise. Her voice is just so special – I love how she brings jungle elements to this track and keeps the more soulful back end. I can’t wait to see what she does next.

Patra’s version of ‘Pull Up to the Bumper’ is one of my favourite covers ever. This track brings all of the best elements of this very special artist together.

I love this D. Tiffany and Roza Terenzi track – the layers build in such a unique way. Dropping this kind of evolution mid-set really gets the crowd pumping.
