Champion are set to celebrate Beastie Boys’ seminal album ‘Check Your Head’ with a new capsule.

The record was released in 1992, and found the New York trio attempting to follow the vastly influential ‘Paul’s Boutique’. Doubling down on the dense array of samples that forged its illustrious forebear, ‘Check Your Head’ found new space to develop in aesthetically.

The album ranks among the group’s finest, boasting the Hendrix salute ‘Jimmy James’, and singles like ‘Pass The Mic’ and ‘So Watcha Want’.

Champion link with the Beastie Boys to celebrate the album, developing a new 17 piece capsule. Pieces include Champion’s iconic Reverse Weave Sweatshirts, in addition to a selection of t-shirts across white, grey and black tones.

It’s a natural crossover moment – a brand so beloved by basketball and other sporting communities, Champion has long held a special place within the pantheon of hip-hop.

Chris Haggarty, Marketing Director EMEA, Champion commented: “We are really excited to be able to bring this capsule to life. Champion has been at the heart of music and youth subculture since the early 90’s and this Beastie Boys collection is a perfect way to celebrate one of the most iconic albums of that period…”

Keith Taperell, Vice President Retail & Sales, Bravado, commented: “To be able to bring Beastie Boys & Champion together to celebrate the iconic ‘Check Your Head’ album with this collaboration is very exciting and delivers something truly special for fans. Beastie Boys and Champion are a completely natural fit and an authentic tribute to the heritage, history and legacy of Beastie Boys.”

The range drops on December 8th but you can get a sneak peek at the invite-only London launch party on December 6th.
